Mandrakesoft plans to acquire Conectiva. Both Mandrakesoft and Conectiva develop, publish, maintain, and distribute the GNU-Linux operating system in packages called Linux distributions. Along with Novell-SUSE Linux and Red Hat Linux, Mandrake-Conectiva is in the top-tier of Linux distribution providers.
