"The first day of LinuxWorld is traditionally a slow one, devoted to tutorial tracks and vendor-setup. I got in around noon, but didn't bother to rush over to the Moscone Center. Instead, I got settled in at my hotel and wandered over to the area around six for the Red Hat cocktail party/briefing being held over at the W Hotel, a LinuxWorld fixture for parties.

"The audience seemed composed at least 50% of Red Hat PR folks and invited speakers, with the occasional press person or analyst sprinkled in for flavor..."
