Millennium Copyright Act."
"Most notable at Tuesday's lukewarm gathering to protest the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) were the people
who didn't show up on the side of the US Capitol Building in Washington, D.C. Protesters were on hand to call
attention to the potentially overreaching provisions of the DMCA."
"There should be recording artists here and independent filmmakers here, any future small content producers -- it's going
to affect them all," said David Niemi, organizer of the protest. The demonstration drew supporters from local Linux groups,
including DCLUG, Northern Virginia's NovaLUG, and the University of Maryland's UMLUG. Niemi could have added free-speech
advocates and technological innovators to his list of should-have-showns -- and hackers, too."
