Roni M. Oliva - Subject: Measuring the True Success of OpenOffice.org ( Oct 12, 2008, 14:23:30 )
For all that is worth, I find it amusing that we have those in the media write about the short comings of a piece of software. Mr. Meeks should step forward and get actively involved with OO.org so that his knowledge of what the software should be like be incorporated into the code. Paying lip service to office suites such as MS Office being better today than it was 10 years ago ... well you can see where I am going with this. I am not sure how long OO.org has been "released" to the community but from my point of view OO.org is just as good as MS Office for my daily use. Sure I don't do fancy graphics, or do magic with it I just use it to do small projects. I also use clac and I find it easy enough for my use as well. As to the development of OpenOffice.org to have all the bells and whistles ... maybe a few more years will do.
