Joe User - Subject: Suse was good ( Mar 14, 2009, 18:58:50 )
Oh, What an amazing turn of events. Things are cooling down in this arrangement. Lets review the facts, shall we?
1. Suse as an independent entity is one of the leading Linux distributions. It is praised for its speed and agility. But due to difficult economic times, nearly goes bankrupt.
2. Novell, a one-time-leader in client-server networking seeks to regain past glories, sees potential in Suse and buys them.
3. Economic downturn and a continued loss of fortunes causes Novell to lose focus, They seek fortune, and engage in a "Faustian bargain". At the conclusion of the bargain, they are seen embracing Mephistopheles. Observers are shocked and dismayed. They cry out "Sic transit gloria mundi". Many people out of principle and obligation are forced to abandon Suse. Others leave it over time for many more reasons, all relating to the deal.
4. Things eventually turn out badly for Novell and Suse. Shock! Awe! Who would have thought? Oh yeah, thats right, any living soul.

So I guess that sums it up. Its not a morality tale, its just a chain of events. You are free however, to draw your own conclusions.
Joe
