"Security is the number two concern for me as a Systems Administrator. My number one concern is system integrity as a whole (of which security is a part). I do not, however, spend a great deal of time on it. I, like many other people responsible for UNIX system security, have a routine (of which I won't elaborate too much about) which I follow (and change randomly) of checks, some automated some by hand. It is, however, always in the back of my mind, every second of every minute I am at work. Being on call - that makes it pretty prevalent in my mind."

"Linux has a large selection of both ported and inherent tools that you as an adminstrator or otherwise can peruse to make security checks and audits a little easier."

Although it does not pertain to Linux security, it is a great article about security in general."
