PCFormat Daily: Linux back door slammedApr 27, 2000, 03:05 (8 Talkback[s])
"MSNBC has created something of a stir byannouncing an undocumented back door password in Red Hat's Linux 6.2 Piranha package, which allows remote users all the god-like powers of the Web server. All you have to do is enter the login name 'piranha' and the password 'Q'."
"It makes a change to see a story about a gaping security hole in a Linux package for a change, rather than in a Microsoft product, and many Linux fans smell a rat for that very reason. Especially given what the MS in MSNBC stands for."
