"OmniLinux, an Open Source network of websites and professional services, has announced the release of Linux 1-2- 3 Fundamentals, the first computer-based training (CBT) in a series of Open Source educational products planned for the Linux market."
"This interactive CBT is a tutorial designed to introduce the student to the Linux operating system. Topics in this 13-chapter CD range from understanding file systems, shells and file security, to command-line mail, GUI and KDE. The unique learning environment of Linux 1-2-3 Fundamentals does not assume the student is a Linux (or Unix) expert. The OmniLinux CBT development staff drew from the experience of its sister division, Unitek Technical Education. OmniLinux and Unitek Technical Education are both divisions of Unitek Information Systems, a Silicon Valley Information Technology firm."
"In the spirit of the Open Source movement, OmniLinux has decided to release the first three chapters for free viewing and learning--see www.destinationlinux.com. "The best aspect about Linux and the Open Source world is the flow of free information and development knowledge. We feel that the Linux 1-2-3 Fundamentals CD can be the Linux launch pad outsiders can use to learn how easy and wonderful Linux is," said Navraj Bawa, OmniLinux's Director of Engineering."
