Enterprise Linux Today: Sendmail Provides Enterprise Market with Secure Internet Messaging Solutions

Oct 02, 2000, 20:40 (0 Talkback[s])

"Content Management Partners Trend Micro, Brightmail and ActiveState Deliver Products Integrated with Sendmail."

"Sendmail, Inc., a leading provider of Internet messaging solutions, today announced that several of its content management partners are ready to deliver their mail filter plug-ins for use with its product lines. Sendmail, Inc.'s partnerships with ActiveState, Brightmail and Trend Micro were developed to deliver secure Internet messaging solutions to enterprises and service providers who rank security and control of their Internet messaging systems as critical requirements."

"The newly released Sendmail Switch 2.1 and Sendmail Advanced Message Server contain a powerful plug-in architecture that allows one or more "filters" to inspect and modify the message stream in a very efficient way. These "filters" can block or quarantine messages containing viruses, spam or dangerous attachment types, detect confidential information or harassment, route messages based on content, archive messages, or attach corporate signatures, disclaimers or announcements. Integrating these kinds of functions into the mail backbone is the most efficient approach to content management and assures that content policy cannot be circumvented."
