  • Debian Security Advisories: w3m, procmail, and xvt (Oct 18, 2001, 16:47)
    The Debian project has released several security updates dealing with w3m, procmail, and xvt. All three within. Please note that the project has also released an advisory noting that w3m updates for the PowerPC architecture are not available due to conflicting glibc versions, and recommends users simply not use the w3m package, recommending links or lynx.

  • Trustix Secure Linux Security Advisory: Util-linux (Oct 18, 2001, 05:47)
    "The "login" program in util-linux stored the user's credentials in a static buffer that could later be reused in other PAM calls issued on behalf of other users. This could lead to a user gaining access to other accounts. Note that this is not possible by default."
