Much of the talk in the Big Data and Hadoop world today involves "NoSQL" databases, which move beyond relational databases -- like MySQL -- that powered previous generations of computing. But Splice Machine thinks relational databases can -- and should -- coexist with Hadoop, too, and has today rolled its relational-database platform for Hadoop into public beta mode.
