Got an email alert from WSJ (Wall Street Journal) Interactive Edition just now. It appears that AOL is in talks with Netscape to buy Netscape in an all-stock deal.
The site requires that you be a subscribe to the WSJ Interactive Edition. The jist is that AOL will take over the Netscape web site and will control the software. Sun is thinking about licensing the Netscape business software from AOL (all of this according to WSJ).
My question is what effect (good or bad) is this likely to have on Open Source and Linux considering Netscape's recent months' posturing to provide major support for Open Source and Linux???
