(Other stories by Neal Stephenson)
On his way from MacOS to BeOS, author Neal Stephenson spends a few years passing through Linux.
He chooses Debian as his distribution of choice because of its superior bug fixing database.
But ultimately Stephenson's interest in computing and operating systems is purely functional. Although he does nothing better than write _in full_ about his subject, it is sad that in his sojourn through Linux he seems to have totally missed the empowering ideas and benefits of Free Software.
