"According to Art Tyde, EVP of Linuxcare, a Linux support company in San Francisco , "The word on the street is that Microsoft has got 34 programmers working on porting Office to Linux," This can mean only one of two things; either Microsoft has concluded that Linux is going to establish a desktop market or it is buying insurance against the eventuality. Microsoft itself has so far refused to confirm or deny this rumour."
