"Dell is among the vendors shipping Windows 2000 beta 3 desktops this week to firms that want to try out Microsoft's operating system before its final release in the autumn."

"However, the UK version of Microsoft's Corporate Preview Programme (CPP) has arrived a month later than expected because the software giant made some last-minute alterations to the beta, and demand for the product is expected to be muted."

"Under Dell's Windows 2000 Premier Migration Programme, corporate customers can purchase dual-boot Optiplex PCs with Windows NT 4 and Windows 2000 beta 3 pre-installed. A charge for the beta software of £34 will include installation and email technical support, said James Griffiths, Dell's product marketing manager for Optiplex desktops."
