"When it comes to Linux support, IBM last week said it is putting its money where its mouth is. The company launched a global support program that is on par with that of its Unix and Windows NT service offerings."

"Among other things, IBM is offering those who purchase its NetFinity servers preloaded with different versions of Linux free service and support for 90 days. Direct telephone and e-mail help center support will be offered around the clock in more than 164 countries for NetFinity servers loaded with Caldera and Red Hat versions of Linux..."

"In addition to extended support, IBM is also expanding its edu-cation curriculum for Linux users, including both classroom and Web-based courses available through IBM Global Services. IBM also said its Linux-based servers will link to AS/400 servers with the release of Yellow Dog Linux Champion Server 1.1 from Terra Soft Solutions Inc."
