As for the giveaways, there was everything from LED super balls to beach towels and, of course, the de rigeour t-shirts. LinuxWorld was too large in its scope to give an overview, but here are a few highlights...."

"The general air was that Microsoft is simply not an issue any more. Linux is an entirely different beast set within paradigms that defy conventional business models. One had the feeling that big businesses like IBM and Compaq had shown up to satisfy their curiosity, learn, and, ultimately, support Linux, as they recognized the evolution of the business world in front of their eyes. Instead of taking years, however, this evolution takes months, weeks, even days to occur. As a side bar, it was amusing to note that there were many suited executives holding meetings on inflatable penguin chairs - a playful reminder of the way Linux is changing business today."
