"Trolltech (www.trolltech.com) today announced that it is developing a visual development tool for the award-winning Qt application framework. This new product will be called Qt Designer, and it will be showcased for the first time at the LinuxTag 2000 conference, June 29 to July 2, in Stuttgart, Germany. The Qt Designer is scheduled to be released simultaneously with the upcoming version 2.2 release of Qt."

"By adding interactive GUI building functionality, the Qt Designer brings a new level of usability to the widely popular Qt cross-platform C++ application framework. The Qt Designer will be available on all platforms supported by Qt. The generated applications will be single-source, write-once-compile-everywhere portable between Windows, Linux, all major Unix'es, as well as embedded systems."

"The Qt Designer will interface with existing development environments, like Visual Studio and emacs. It also fully supports Qt's widget layout system, so that the generated GUIs can automatically and smoothly adapt to different end-user application languages and desktop settings."
