Re-Imagining Linux Platforms to Meet the Needs of Cloud Service Providers

"When I wrote a previous article on WorkSpot.com, I received a
comment from Mr. John Hawk about trying out LastFoot.com. I'd like
to thank Mr. Hawk for his suggestion since what follows is my
experience trying out their service. Let me also say that WorkSpot
has made some changes that have improved its speed, which was a
problem I pointed out in my review."
"When using either of the services, (LastFoot and WorkSpot) I
recommend you use the VNC Viewer that each make available to their
users free of charge. This will make performance much better for
slow connections. Why use LastFoot or WorkSpot? Well if you'd
like to try Linux without making any major changes to your
computer, this is an excellent method."
"I tried some of the games on LastFoot and found them to work
fine. ... I tried out Star Office (ver. 5.1) and it seems to work
fine except that spell checking causes Star Office to terminate.
There may be other problems with Star Office that I'm unaware of,
but needless to say that if a major feature like spell checking
causes it to terminate, I'm a bit skeptical. ... LastFoot gives you
a choice of using either KDE or Gnome as your desktop. I tried both
but still prefer KDE."
