Re-Imagining Linux Platforms to Meet the Needs of Cloud Service Providers

"Corel Corporation released their first Linux distribution in November 1999. From the beginning, their emphasis was on making Linux easy to install and easy to use, to 'reduce the barriers to Linux..'. GUI's were used throughout the installation process. Even the usual text-based lilo boot prompt was replaced with a GUI. This emphasis has continued into the latest release, Corel Linux OS - Second Edition, based upon a subset of the Debian distribution."

"If your system can boot from a cdrom drive, you can install Corel Linux from the Installation CD. If not, a boot floppy is provided with the Standard and Deluxe packages. If you download the iso and burn your own cd, there are utilities on the cd to make a boot floppy if needed."

"...I've left out several other programs and features, but what I've seen and used has shown me that Corel Linux Second Edition is one sweet distribution."
