"Mentor Graphics announced today the availability and immediate release of the entire IC Station suite of products on the Linux (Redhat 6.0) operating platform. Customers receive all of the functionality, capacity, performance, and automation of the IC Station full custom IC design solution, which includes schematic capture, netlisting and IC layout, while enjoying the cost effectiveness and increased microprocessor speeds of x86 PC-class computers."

"Mentor Graphics is the first major EDA company to address the custom IC design market with a Linux solution. The IC Station solution on Linux provides a 10x productivity increase over manual polygon editors. The integration of schematic capture (Design Architect-IC) and schematic driven layout (ICgraph SDL) together with the engineering change order capability (ICeco) allows concurrent design and layout development. This enables the layout to begin before final sign off of schematics."

"Our customers face a competitive environment which demands automation and performance improvements, while finding a less expensive way to accomplish custom IC design," said Ernie Koeroghlian, business unit director of the custom IC design business unit of Mentor Graphics Corporation. "We're thrilled to be able to step up and offer a cost-effective solution to our customers which enables them design success without jeopardizing quality."
