"TestBuilder C++ Testbench Class Library to be Available Through Open Source License; Developer's Forum Launched."

"Cadence Design Systems, Inc. (NYSE:CDN), the world's leading supplier of electronic design products and services, today announced that it would make its TestBuilder C++ testbench class library available through open source licensing -- the first such tool to be available on this basis. The company will provide free and open access to its TestBuilder library -- as well as on-going source code management -- as the community of developers grows."

"This move will allow designers, IP developers, and EDA vendors to develop interoperable testbenches for chip or system design verification. In addition, Cadence announced the initial participants in a Developers Forum, which includes Sun Microsystems, CynApps, and ASIC Alliance. Developers Forum participants receive a high level of support and direct access to the TestBuilder development team."
