"Corel said it agreed to 'settle certain legal issues' between
the two companies. Despite that, interim Corel chief executive
Derek Burney said there had not been any legal action taken by
Corel against Microsoft."
"However, after Microsoft lost the first round of its court
battle with the U.S. Department of Justice and was deemed a
monopoly, Corel was preparing to launch a case, according to
sources close to Corel."
"Corel had gone as far as to ask several former employees if
they would testify in the case. 'They said in the wake of the
anti-trust thing, that they were looking to sue Microsoft,' said
one former Corel executive who asked not to be named."
