"Dialtone Internet, Inc., a leading provider of Linux dedicated hosting and colocation solutions, announced today the completion of a $2.0 million round of financing. Funds were raised from CrossBow Ventures, and are earmarked for International expansion in Latin America, Europe and Asia. A Miami ("Silicon Beach") data center is currently under development with anticipated opening late 2000. Additional funds will be allocated to marketing and to customer support, as Dialtone Internet seeks to increase its market lead while preserving its remarkable customer retention and satisfaction levels."

"An increasing number of small and medium-sized businesses are migrating their web presence from shared to dedicated servers, leading to rapid growth. A 76% compounded annual growth rate is projected specifically for the US hosting market over the next five years. With the lion's share of the revenues related to dedicated and collocation-hosting services, year 2003 hosting revenues are estimated to reach $14.6 billion. This trend is attributed to the increasing attractiveness of outsourcing as a robust and cost-effective alternative to purchasing and maintaining a Web server and to the explosion of Linux in general."

"Many small and medium size businesses are concluding that outsourcing servers with Dialtone Internet is a logical alternative to designing and constructing their own data centers. We provide them with a secure hosting environment for their servers, with proven and optimized software, bandwidth and network management for a single monthly fee," said Al Albarracin, CEO of Dialtone Internet. "Customers around the world have warmly embraced our hosting model. This extra capital comes at the perfect time, and would allow us to expand aggressively both domestically and abroad."
