"In this article, I propose to take a look at "KDE 2.0 Final Beta". I will cover the download, installation and useage of this magnificent project's software. But first a little history, to get everyone up to speed."

"KDE 2.0 is a major release. The previous version, 1.1.2 was an ok product but was weak in some areas. But since KDE and QT go together, it's kind of hard to upgrade one without the other and so for most of us, we were stuck using KDE 1.1.2 until the KDE team started releasing the 2.0 series betas. But some of us probably didn't try out many of the betas due to the effort required to download and install from source code. Assuming you like the compile and install process, it is alot of work and, depending upon your computer's level of processing resources, compiling KDE can take one hell of a long time. But the end result is worth it."

"In this article, I'll be telling you about my experiences with KDE's BetaFinal5.0 as it's known on the ftp sites, or as kde likes to call it "Kandidat."
