"That was the message espoused by two top executives from VA
Linux Systems, who gave Wednesday's keynote speech at the Software
Developers 2000 Conference here. Larry Augustin, founder, president
and CEO of VA Linux, and John Hall, the company's vice president of
strategic planning, spoke of the benefits of open source and
detailed some of the work going on in that community."

free, Augustin maintained. They're choosing it because it's
