"Loki Software, Inc. and QERadiant.com are pleased to release GtkRadiant 1.1 beta for Linux and Win32. GtkRadiant is a cross-platform version of the Quake III Arena level editor Q3Radiant."

"GtkRadiant offers several improvements over Q3Radiant and many new features, including:

  • Map compilation monitoring and improved q3map. Q3Map reports to GtkRadiant through the network and can help users debug common problems such as duplicate planes, mixed content and fog brushes errors.
  • Sleep mode. Before running Quake III Arena to playtest maps, users can have Radiant release all OpenGL resources.
  • Plugins. Now that GtkRadiant is stabilized we will soon incorporate more plugins."
