Re-Imagining Linux Platforms to Meet the Needs of Cloud Service Providers
"Perhaps I wasn't paying attention, but when did we Linux
developers collectively decide that Microsoft's Visual Basic is the
next Big Evil Thing we should all be rallying against, like
villagers armed with pitchforks and torches, hunting down
Frankenstein's monster? Did I miss a memo?"
"I bring up this topic because of how often lately I've seen
sneering references to VB and any project (like KBasic or Phoenix
Open Basic) that so much as whispers an intent to port VB to Linux,
or to create an even vaguely VB-like environment to Linux. I
honestly don't mean to be unkind, but think this is about as
wrong-headed, elitist, and just plain goofy as things get, even in
this traveling circus we call a computer industry."
