Jeff Stephens writes:

"Borland has released version 4 of its java IDE which supersedes the previous 3.5 version and finally provides support for jdk1.3. It's a free download, but at approximately 88MB (including documentation and sample programs), a DSL or cable internet connection is preferred."

From the download page:

"JBuilder Foundation was written by Java developers for Java developers. The amazingly fast and robust environment shows that Java is no slouch when it comes to the most demanding tasks imaginable. Featuring a responsive and feature rich editing environment, rapid compilation using an advanced dependency checking system and an intuitive debugging environment, JBuilder Foundation delivers on the Java dream of sophisticated portable code."

"It's our new foundation for the future of the JBuilder product line and the perfect companion for the JDK."

"We use JBuilder to improve JBuilder and it shows. The AppBrowser makes managing hundreds of packages and thousands of source files effortless. CodeInsight technology automatically looks up classes, methods and parameter information as you type, integrated seamlessly into the source code editor."
