Re-Imagining Linux Platforms to Meet the Needs of Cloud Service Providers

"Opera 4.0 beta 5 for Linux is available on Intel x86 platform. PPC is soon to come."

"Opera for Linux has been tested on RedHat Linux 6.2, Debian Potato 2.2, Slackware 7, NetBSD 1.5_BETA/i386, and Linux Mandrake 7.1; we'll be releasing versions regularly now with the progress updated. There are now also ports to other platforms working nearly as well as the RedHat Linux 6.2 version is."

"Qt 2.2.2 has been used to make this version of Opera for Linux. Qt 2.2.2 can be downloaded from a few different sites. Most sites that carry the KDE project make Qt 2.2 available as binaries or packages. Otherwise download the Qt 2.2.2 source files from www.trolltech.com and compile it for your system. Opera requires the -gif option to be used when configuring Qt to compile. Once it is compiled make sure to add the $QTDIR/lib directory to the LD_LIBRARY_PATH environment variable in order to run Opera properly."
