"With the coming of the new Linux beta drivers from NVIDIA lots
of folks will be rushing to upgrade. Should you? This new set
boasts TwiNView support for the MX, multi-monitor OpenGL support
and some bug fixes as well as a few other lesser items. All well
and good but, what most NVIDIA card owners want to know is, is it
"I picked up the drivers as soon as I discovered they were
available. During the installation I noticed some nice additions
such as automatic removal the MESA files that get in the way. This
feature saves the user a few minutes tracking them all down and
removing them. Tucked in with the GLX stuff is the ChangeLog as

that there was no mention of performance in the ChangeLog."

little benchmarking. The numbers appalled me. Thinking I may have
hosed something I did a totally fresh installation of Mandrake 7.2,
XFree86 4.0.1 and the new drivers. Same story. Thinking that maybe
XFree86 4.0.2 was the key I upgraded to that. The verdict? I think
I will let the benchmark numbers tell the rest of the story."
