"To kick the year off with a bang, the first Linux conference of the year is due to be held from January 17-20, at the University of NSW, Sydney Australia. Featuring long toothed kernel gurus such as Alan Cox and Dave Miller - fresh from hacking out a brand spanking new version of the kernel - Linux.conf.au has been called the conference featuring the "Who's who of Linux"."
"The conference organisers have been frantically getting things up to scratch for the last few months, arranging spots for conference-goers to sleep - "Have a kernel hacker sleep on your floor" was the line for that one, and also buying all of the alcohol for the after parties."
"For 4 days of mayhem, sleep deprivation, motivating speakers and elevating workshops, you can still register online at, of course, linux.conf.au."
"Great start, but what else does this year hold in store? Here's some predictions which may or not come true, but which will hopefully give Linux enthusiasts something to think about."
