"In a move to push the Web services movement forward, IBM Thursday released the source code for UDDI for Java to the open source community."

"The Universal Description, Discovery and Integration initiative, launched last year, is a multivendor effort to create registries for Web services, allowing companies to automatically discover each other and do business over the Web."

"UDDI4J is a Java API to provide a client-side interface to access any UDDI registry. The source code will be located on IBM's Open Source Zone on its developerWorks site, at http://oss.software.ibm.com/developerworks/opensource."
