I am glad to announce that after what amounts to now the longest delay between two subsequentive snapshots, a new OpenOffice.org snapshot (625) has been released. New and exciting features in it include:

  • On unix platforms, out of the box support for printing using an Xprint server
  • Sweeping rewrites and enhancements to the database component
  • The default file formats for the components have been changed to XML
  • Vastly improved support for compiling/running on *BSDs
As per usual, there is full support for compiling on Linux/x86, Linux/PPC, Solaris (sparc and x86) and Win32 platforms.

Full description of changes/enhancements is available in the release notes.
