Hewlett-Packard begins selling Linux desktops in Bulgaria

According to the news from HP-Bulgaria, starting from April,11 2001, HP-Bulgaria begins selling desktop PC's with Linux installed. These PC's are targeted at small to medium sized businesses. This is part of the new HP initiative targeting Eastern European price-sensitive markets.

The Linux-based models offered are called HP Brio BA410 Linux Limited Edition, installed with Linux Mandrake 7.2 as desktop OS, Linux applications (StarOffice 5.2, Adobe Acrobat Reader, Netscape Communicator 4.75, etc.). There are two models available:

  • C700/64MB/10GB/CD/LINUX/Applications, 1 year warranty.
  • PIII866/64MB/20GB/CD/LINUX/Applications, 1 year warranty.
