Jeremy Allison of the Samba Team wrote in to let us know about
ZDNet's review of the recently released Samba 2.2. The reviewer
seems to like it, going so far as to give it an Analyst's Choice
Award and contribute to AlkaSeltzer sales in Redmond by offering
that it "offers enough functionality to be a Windows NT Server
replacement for many organizations, especially in smaller
stand-alone offices."
The review isn't all sweetness and light, pointing to a lack of
support for Windows NT trust relationships and some configuration
hassles the average Windows admin might find distracting (like
having to type information into a configuration file), but it's
still very positive press for the project and mentions some
interesting upcoming features.
