eWeek: Sun upgrades StarOffice

A brief article in eWeek quotes the Senior Product Manager for StarOffice as hoping to have the final version 6.0 product shipping next quarter.

According to the article, the XML file format specification for StarOffice will be complete at that time, and the team hopes to have Office XP compatibility in place as well.

"Iyer Venkatesan, senior product manager for StarOffice, said that Sun plans to release StarOffice 6 later this year. While Venkatesan is aiming for next quarter, the date could be pushed to the fourth quarter."
