Trolltech has released beta 1 of Qt 3.0, its C++ GUI
toolkit, the foundation of the K Desktop Environment.
Qt 3.0 will be released under one of three licenses: Commercial,
for developers who want to develop commercial software; Academic,
for educational institutions who want to teach Qt on platforms that
would otherwise require a Commercial license; and GPL for Free
Software developers.
New capabilities the company names (listed more fully below)
are: database support; data-aware widgets that provide automatic
synchronization between the GUI and the underlying database; a new
version of Qt Designer that has become a full-function GUI builder;
and comprehensive internationalization.
