Re-Imagining Linux Platforms to Meet the Needs of Cloud Service Providers

"Oliver Strutynski writes in with the latest news regarding the Open Source Web browser, Konqueror:

"With the release of KDE 2.2 the KDE team has also released the most current version of the open source web browser Konqueror for Linux, Free BSD and many other Unix platforms.

"The standards-compliant Konqueror has a component-based architecture which combines the features and functionality of Internet Explorer/Netscape Communicator and Windows Explorer. Konqueror supports the full gamut of current Internet technologies, including JavaScript, Java, XML, HTML 4.0, CSS-1 and -2, SSL and Netscape Communicator plug-ins (for Flash, RealAudio and RealVideo, and similar technologies); Konqueror also supports some ActiveX controls, such as the Shockwave Player. Support for all these features is provided through KHTML, a KDE library widget which is available to all KDE applications as either a widget or as a component (using the KParts technology)."
