"The KDE Project today announced the immediate release
of KDE 2.2, a powerful and easy-to-use Internet-enabled desktop and
development environment for Linux. KDE 2.2 ships with KDevelop 2.0.
KDevelop is the leading Linux/UNIX integrated development
environment (IDE) for C/C++ development. KDevelop provides
professional programs with powerful tools for rapid development and
design of sophisticated C/C++ applications.
Consistent with KDE's rapid and disciplined development pace,
the release of KDevelop features a large number of
speed/performance enhancements, feature additions and stability
improvements. Among those are: a redesigned user interface offering
three different working modes, including multiple views per
document; a new setup wizard for easy configuration; and additional
enhancements that instantly improve a developer's overall
productivity, such as configurable sound notifications and
text-colored compiler output. In addition, KDevelop 2.0 adds
support for the Qt 3.0 beta releases, together with the
accompanying Qt Designer and Qt Linguist tools.
KDE and all its components, including KDevelop, are available
for free under Open Source licenses from the KDE server and its
mirrors and can also be obtained on CD-ROM."
