Conference & Expo plans to show the IT industry and the
enterprise that open source has come into its own this August
26th-30th, 2001, at the Moscone Convention Center in San Francisco,
California. Long past the creation of Linux when Linus Torvalds
debuted the first system in 1991, this year's LinuxWorld is slated
to boast major developments in the Linux community including
exciting exhibitor product, application and service announcements.
Despite the overall economic downturn, pre-registration for
LinuxWorld's exhibit hall pass is up 50% over last year.
A showcase of the event's lineup includes the Worldwide
Developers Conference; a feature presentation by Ed Leonard, Head
of Technology for DreamWorks Animation, and the Embedded Linux
Pavilion. In addition, one individual, association or organization
that has proven outstanding dedication to the open source movement
will receive the prestigious $25,000 IDG/Linus Torvalds Community
Award.
LinuxWorld exhibitors will utilize the largest gathering of the
Open Source community as a forum to announce and demonstrate new
products and services as well as award contest winners. Exhibitor
