"I've been toying with the idea of implementing a
journalling filesystem on the Redhatbox.org server for quite a
while now. The increased data integrity and speed was strongly
appealing, but the thought of patching the hell out of my kernel to
reach what was called 'experimental' functionality at best made
ext3, the successor to the ever popular ext2 filesystem, sound like
more trouble than it was worth.
