"Christchurch open source software advocate Dave Lane says the
Government has produced an 'anaemic' reply to a call by more than
360 New Zealand IT professionals for a review of the dominance of
Microsoft Windows-based applications in Government computing.
"The open letter at www.openz.org sent last year to State

use of open source software by government agencies... 'Also, there
is no policy in favour of the purchase of proprietary
software...'"
