"First, we decided to only include mature, full featured, business accounting packages which appear to have real customers (no version 0.11 releases need apply). It was a little hard to determine this on some of the packages so be warned. Both proprietary and open source packages are considered. Next, we quickly drove off any packages that are not strictly accounting. We did not include any "sort of" accounting packages like "billing and tracking" or packages that just supplement accounting with scripting or toolkits. Also left out were any personal or home packages even though this is probably a mistake since these may be just the ticket for very small businesses. We are open to a special category for these in the next round.
