"Phoenix version 0.4 was released several days ago just in time for Halloween. Although I doubt many Mozilla fans went trick-or-treating dressed up as a burning bird, this time next year many lizard costumes might be traded in for Phoenix ones. After watching the exponential improvements in each new version of Phoenix, I worried the next version couldn't possibly keep up the improvement pace, but I am happy to say that version 0.4 succeeds in keeping the same blistering rate of progress.

"While the Mozilla project meticulously rewrites the low level browser core, Phoenix is focusing on improving speed and simplifying the user interface by stripping out seldom-used features. The project page explains that "Phoenix is a redesign of the Mozilla browser component, similar to Galeon, K-Meleon and Chimera..... The approach they have taken in redesigning the browser is the main reason for the project's rapid success..."
