Re-Imagining Linux Platforms to Meet the Needs of Cloud Service Providers
"Open source software has taken a big step closer to the
mainstream, as Australia's two largest state governments have
created policy units to investigate wider use of open platforms in
the public sector.
"NSW IT Minister Kim Yeadon will unveil the open source
investigation in the coming week as part of a wider IT policy
outline leading up to the state election on March 22.
"In its ongoing connect.nsw program, the state government has
also appointed a senior bureaucrat to develop a policy with a view
to wider public sector use of open source platforms..."
