Re-Imagining Linux Platforms to Meet the Needs of Cloud Service Providers

"Chuck Talk: Hi Louis, thanks for agreeing to an interview, it is appreciated. Can you tell us a little bit about yourself and your role in Open Office development and Open Office.org?

"Louis Suarez-Potts: I'm the lead community development manager at CollabNet and the Community Manager of OpenOffice.org and have been for the last 3 plus years, more or less since the inception of the project, in 2000. My role is difficult to describe, at least to myself. In part, that's because we do not have a benevolent dictatorship nor a strict hierarchy. We have a Community Council, of which I am a member and its chair, which doesnt' mean too much, though it does give me the dubious pleasure of drafting the agenda for our monthly meetings. It also gives me a vehicle for proposing policy, which is kind of fun..."
