"The threat of legal action has stifled several open source
efforts that allowed interoperability between Linux-based computers
and Plextor DVD burners. Plextor parent company Shinano Kenshi
accused two open source developers working on the PxScan, PxView,
and PxLinux software projects of infringing their rights and
committing unfair commercial practices in the developers' mention
of the projects on various discussion forums.
