“GraphOn Corporation, developers of Bridges web-enabling
software, today announced it has signed an exclusive agreement with
Corel Corporation (CORL) to market and distribute WordPerfect
Office 2000 for the Windows and Linux platforms and Corel LINUX OS
for the desktop as part of GraphOn’s planned solution for China’s
educational system.”

With the arrangement, GraphOn can offer China’s educational
system a cost-effective infrastructure and application
combination.
China’s Ministry of Education has already seen
successful implementations of GraphOn Bridges web-enabling
software, which provides a thin client, centrally managed system
for deploying applications into China’s schools. The Corel
WordPerfect office suite and Corel LINUX OS for the desktop
products enable GraphOn to provide a comprehensive solution for the
Chinese market.”

“Our agreement with Corel makes a lot of sense. We can satisfy
the needs of far more schools and gain more market share faster by
offering productivity solutions as well as the vital connectivity,”
said GraphOn CEO and President, Walt Keller. “Starting with China’s
educational system, we can present a comprehensive suite of
applications for the Windows and Linux platforms, Linux operating
system and of course our Bridges technology that will free China’s
schools to move to Linux while preserving their investment in
Windows. GraphOn wins, Corel wins, and China’s educational system
wins.”
