Canada Computes: Amaya is HTML editor on a mission

“…So what is Amaya? It’s an open source WYSIWYG (What You See
Is What You Get) Web development enviroment. Some people hate
WYSIWYG HTML editors, and for me, at least, it’s because they often
create truly horrendous code. Amaya, however, being developed by
the lords of HTML should generate good code, right?”

“When you first load the program you get a row of buttons at the
top. There are standard browser buttons, accompanied by some HTML
text manipulation buttons. On first glance, the program doesn’t
look all that special. But, when you dive into the menus, you’ll
see how lovely the program is.”

“This program is deep. If there’s an HTML command, it knows it.
Some of the commands can be a little esoteric, like the one for
centering text on the page. A hint for you: look under
Style->Format->Align.”
